Below is an early comic script for a story originally called “The Emergency Response”. The concept continued but the name changed to “Danger Man”. “The Emergency Response” is now the title for another story. You can read more about what happened and this entire mini comic here (this explains the discrepancies in the lettering and the page corrections).
The point of the script was to tell a simple story in one page. Similar to the comic “ads” for “Snickers” or “Hostess” seen in monthly comic books.
“Danger ‘Woman'” script

PAGE 1
PANEL 1
A woman staggers home in a drunken daze. Her home resides near a bustling urban area. It was a good night. The houses and apartments are stacked next to one another. The buildings cast interconnecting shadows. The streets are still; save for the leaves shuffling in the wind. Street lamps illuminate the road sporadically, but the light is secondary to the dark.
Murphy is hidden within the scene.
CAPTION: It was a good night. Lots of fun. Great memories and memorable events to come!
PANEL 2
The woman passes a large tree. A man is positioned on the other side; unnoticed.
PANEL 3
The man; a thug, grabs the woman.
WOMAN
(surprised)
!
PANEL 4
The woman fights as the man tries to muffle her mouth. Her struggling agitates the man.
MAN
Shut up, girl! Don't make this any worse.
WOMAN
(intermitted)
Please-- No. Stop! Someone-- Help me!
I'm in dange--
CAPTION: Danger Man is a force of nature that emboldens any individual to save themselves.
PANEL 5
Hero shot of Danger Man inhabiting her body, taking her female form.
CAPTION: Adrenalin surges within the woman and DANGER MAN possesses her; unseen by the naked eye. His danger aura enhances her natural instinct to...
PANEL 6
The woman; appearing dressed as Danger man, head-butts her captor. Blood spews from his nose.
CAPTION: ...Fight!
MAN
Aagh!
SOUND: SMASH!
PANEL 7
The man falls to the ground in a heap. The Danger "woman" positions herself next to him.
MAN
My f'ing no'e!
PANEL 8
Danger "Woman" viciously punches the man; her blows surprising strong. She continues until something; rather Danger Man, wills her to...
DANGER MAN
Stop.
PANEL 9
And she does. Her fist halts in the air near the man's face. The man is bloodied; beaten. Her chest heaves and her breathing slows.
PANEL 10
She stammers to her feet. Incredulity uglies her face.
PANEL 11
The woman runs away from the scene. She is already on her cell phone.
Danger Man lingers behind. He is no longer needed and its body becomes less corporeal.
WOMAN
911...
